Tip #7: Keep Your Gear WaterproofNow that you have a rain coat for you and your camera gear, you will want to make sure it stays waterproof over the years. Depending upon how frequently you use it and how wet it can get, you will want to reapply a waterproofing, such as a spray, on occasion. Some retailers say after every wash; others say every third. I have only done it when I notice the outer layer is no longer repelling water. Washing an item inside out and in cold water will also help retain the durable water repellent finish.
